This is a very nice bracket cuckoo clock by the famous Johann Baptist Beha of Eisenbach in the Black Forest of Germany made circa 1860.
Clocks by this maker are recognised to be of the very finest quality and are sought by collectors worldwide.This particular example was sourced from a private collection and is fresh to the market.
These clocks are getting very difficult to find.
The attractive rosewood veneered case is inlaid with brass,pewter and colours.Please note the cuckoo door which is nicely inlaid with a cuckoo bird.
The opening door reveals a 7 inch enamel dial.There are side doors to allow access to the movement and to operate the strike silent levers.
The substantial wooden plate double fusee movement has been serviced in recent years and functions perfectly.The typical Beha pendulum is present but is not photographed.The cuckoo bird is original.
The overall condition is excellent with the original finish being present.
The dial has an indentation between 11 and 12 o\'clock which has caused some hairline cracking but this cannot be seen from 2 feet away.
There are two filled holes on either side of the case and I presume someone previous fitted a gong mounting bar which has since been removed..The minute hand has been repaired

The clock is 18 tall,13 wide 8 and deep.
