1800\'s Agate balance scale. The stand is all Iron except for the Shaft has a Brass covering, which has begun to split, along the backside. From the top down, everything is solid Brass, including the chains. The piece that holds the Balance arm is stamped 10 lbs. The balance Arm is stamped Maker J. Hare Birmingham, and Agate Patent Balance.The end Hinges are two different sizes. Although this is a Beautiful piece. I do not claim it to be all original.
