For sale is a Civil War era musician sword.  C Roby manufactured this sword in 1863.  


The grip and guard have a great deep mustard patina.  The guard has inspector marked F.S.S.


The blade is marked C. ROBY / W.CHELMSFORD MASS in a circle on one side and U.S. / 1863 / F.S.S. on the other.


The blade is cut down at 12 1/4 inches.  I have heard this was done at times during the Second World War !!!!!
