IT HAS BEEN IN MY COLLECTION FOR OVER 15 YEARS.

This 87 year old cast iron Cap Gun named \"YORK\"is in \"C7\"condition with absolutely no cracks, chipping,repairs or modifications. The main spring is tight,hammer and trigger works and the surface patinareflects great care over the years. There is a slight amount fine rust inside the cap box area so typical of these early used cap guns.

NOTE: ABOUT 10% of the original protective black japanning finish is still intact. This protective varnishwas applied to these vintage cast iron toys by thefactory to prevent rust. This japanning can beobserved on the barrel end and the sides and the grips. Theamount of protective varnish still remaining on avintage cap gun is indicative of just how well the toywas cared for over the years. Normally, the more theremaining varnish, then greater care is evidenced.

This cap toy would make an interesting conversationpiece framed and hung on the wall as decorativehistorical art.

PHOTOS CORRECTION: THE DARKNESS TOWARD THE BARREL END IS NOT RUST OR CORROSION......JUST CAMERA SHADOW FLASH ERROR. AND RESIDUAL JAPANNING FACTORY FINISH.
