This is a very neat Chicago Cardinals game worn warm-up jacket sweater which is a vintage early 1950s piece. The sweater was worn by Cardinal coaches in the early 1950s and possibly earlier. Curly Lambeau was the head coach of the Cards from 1950-1951. In 1951 Chicago played the LA Rams in Salt Lake City. There is an extensive youtube video of this game. Early in the third quarter a player runs quickly past the Cards bench. If you stop the video you can see the Chicago coaches wearing these sweaters with a clean front and tacle twill Cardinals on the back. (Note in the late 1950s the Cards wore the name Cardinals on the front of these sweaters. There are many small holes and team repairs on this wool sweater. However the Wilson tags still exist and this will display as a super early, vintage NFL item. It\'s from the Lambeau era and is a big size 48 with a 27\" drop from the top of the neck to the bottom of the waistband.The sweater has team repairs and a number of small holes but has survived in ok shape for a 65 yr old antique. This would look great in your NFL FB collection with other game used, worn items!
