VINTAGE CIVIL WAR AXE with HANDLE. Maker J.BEATTY :
$50.00
Up for offer is a large Civil War axe, with handle. The maker name is on the axe and it appears to read: J. Beatty. After research, I found that William Beatty started making axes and edge tools in Waterville, Pennsylvania in 1806. William had two brothers (John and Robert) who also was involved in the business andput their names on these axes. So this axe is probablybefore the Civil War.The axe measures:
13\"L x 9 1/8\"W x 1 1/2\"D
Overall length with handle is 2\' 7\".The handle appears to be original. The handle was restored due to splits and cracks. It is in very good condition considering it\'s age.
