Really cool original piece of CW history and a rare battlefield pick-up that was apparently added to a scrap book during the war. The illustration is a page from confederate Lt. Col. Richard Milton Cary\'s \"Skirmishers\' Drill & Bayonet Exercise\" published in Richmond, VA in 1861. The notations state that the page was recovered from the battlefield of Jerusalem Plank Road on June 22nd, 1864, by an unidentified member of Captain William Dement\'s 1st Maryland Battery Light Artillery, a confederate organization that served in Gen. A.P. Hill\'s corps. The pencil inscription reads:
\"June 22nd. Charge on enemys lines. 2 lines breast works taken. 1,600 prisoners Hancock\'s Corps. 4 ps 12 NY Artillery. 8 stand colors. 1st Md. Baty. (Mahone\'s Division, Hill\'s Corps)\"
On the back is a lithograph of Gen. James Longstreet. Under the drill manual page is more writing identifying the man who found it as a member of Dement\'s battery.
I ship to the lower 48 states only. Sorry, no international shipping. Please message me if you have any questions.
