This is a \"jewel of a crewel.\" It is a large piece; approximately 70\" x 70.\" it is backed with linen and has top and bottom pockets for a wall-hanging rod. The subject matter is Kentucky Folk Art --log cabin and Tobacco leaf. This piece is signed on the lower right corner. The background is black. The colors of the work itself are evident in the photos.The heir ofthe crewel\'s original owner haslittle information to provide but says she thinks she remembers the piece was bought in the 1980s from a Kentucky antique dealer. Further her recollection is that the title of the piece is Kentucky Tobacco.This piece has been in storage and is a bit musty. It was originally in a smoker\'s home. Condition is very good with only very minor fraying on a couple of edges.I\'ll try to answer questions but truthfully this is all I know.
