You are offerding on a really niceCucullaea Gigantea Fossil,a now extinct bivalve from the Paleocene ranging in age from 58.7 – 55.8 million years old.
About 3\" long and 2 1/2\" wide and I am sure has some images inscribed all around the surface. I have searched and search and can\'t fine anything remotely like it. I have another sale with two smaller specimens/fossils listed as well.I bought these from an estate in North Carolina, and was told that the man who found them was a very involved in relic hunting, and mainly searched in the North and South Carolina Coastal areas where they think he found these
I was also told that he hunted from about 1949 through about 1985.
