Here is a wonderful, custom made, youthroping saddle. It was made by Bob Long, Silver City, New Mexico. It is number 222 anddated 9-15-1985.It is marked under the seat with the makers markas well as the original owners name when it was built.It is also marked behind the cantle and on the latigo keeper It does have the owners name tooled on the back of the cantle butis difficult to read. It does have a solid rawhide tree, real sheep skin, a 12\" seat and looks to have a 4\" cantle. The horn is 3\", it has a 5 1/2\" gullet, double rigging but no backcinch. It does have a repair on one stirrup leather as shown in the photos. The blue seat is smooth, not a rough out. This is a very well built youth saddlethat it is hard to find. The stitching is all good and tight. My rule of thumb has been, if you have a good deep seated saddle you will enjoy your ride and feel a lot more secure whether you are an adult or youth.The saddle is 22\" in length.
