Offered for sale is this gorgeous Native American Style flute by David O\'Neal of Rising Moon Flutes. Six hole Key of F (note the key is F, not F#) pentatonic scale. It is 22 1/2\" long with a 7/8\" bore.
This beautiful flute was a custom made piece. It is in resin stabilized spalted maple with Oregon walnut mid-section and inset foot piece. This is a gorgeous piece of spalted maple with a lot of black line and the voids have been filled with crushed turquoise. Raised bands with crushed turquoise inlay. Blackwood block with turquoise. The blackwood block has a cedar foot to help with wet out. The pictures don\'t quite capture the beauty of this flute.
If you are familiar with David\'s flutes you know that he uses fossils, minerals and other natural elements in his inlays and blocks. This flute is a perfect example of his beautiful style. If you are familiar with Rising Moon Flutes you also know that David\'s flutes have gorgeous sound. Spalted woods typically have many pores or voids and can be brittle and unstable to turn, thus it is frequently pressure infused with resin to stabilize it. The resin used to stabilize the spalted wood results in a very smooth inner bore and this gives the flute very clear and highly controllable sound. This one has great volume as well and the notes are very stable. I have another of David\'s flutes listed, so see my other sales.
I am onlyselling this flute because I haverecently gotten into rim blown flutes and need to downsize the collection a bit. David\'s flutes in rare woods and with embellishments such as this typically go for over $600.00, so the starting offer isreasonable.
