Drueke #89800 walnut chess table in original box, never used. These rarely seen and highly sought-after tables are the ONLY ORIGINAL DRUEKE boards with 2.5 inch squares. If you have a set of Staunton Club Size chess set such as the House of Staunton Collector Series 4.4 King height, this is the perfect mate for your most prized chessmen. Features a convenient drawer for your favorite pieces, and a removable solid wood board surface if you just want to play on the board alone. I bought this about 15 years ago and I took it out of the box to inspect it, then it went back in the box and into storage until today when I photographed it and put it back in the box. Never assembled, never played on, never seen the light of day since about 2003. Made in Michigan and signed by the real guy who worked the factory in the old days. All original paperwork, hardware and packaging is included. My guess is that the Drueke Co. built nearly 100 of these over the span of a few years. Solid walnut construction with walnut dark squares and aspen light squares on the playing field. Extra wide border with plenty of room for clock, beverages, etc. offer with confidence on this piece of American Chess History!
