This sale is for a VERY Rare Republic of Texas Infantry button. This 19.5mm button feature the Texas Star with the Infantry I in the middle and the Republic of Texas around the star. It has the Scovills Waterbury back mark and is listed in Albert\'s book as TX-10A and is part of the order that the Republic of Texas placed in 1837 with Scovill after it became a Republic in 1836. It has a push to the face but has a stand up shank and a VERY nice readable Scovills Waterbury back mark. I bought the button back in the early 90\'s from an old digger in Corinth Mississippi who dug it from a Confederate camp along the Mobile & Ohio railroad north of town. From my research these camps were occupied by the 1st Texas Legion and the 3rd Texas Dismounted Cavalry. Even with the push to the face this is still a very rare and sought after button.I offer a 14 day return if you are not totaly HAPPY with your purchase for ANY reason.
