This earlysterling silver (tested) child\'s thimble has a scrolling floral designaroundthe band. Itis almost 5/8\"highand the opening is 11 mm in diameter, about the same as an Americanchild\'s size 1.
It has acouple of shallow dings in the knurling, but the conditionis outstanding for a thimble of this age, pretty much inround with no holes, repairs or other damage. The design is sharper andless rubbed than any of this age I\'ve had.Somesilver thimbles of this age and style are shown onp. 41 of Edwin Holmes\' book AHistory ofThimbles.
