The 1855 Lancaster Bayonet is considered one of the rarest and most attractive bayonets ever made. This fine example is in original condition never polished or restored. You can even see some of the original grease in the socket. The only mark on it is a single R on each side of the blade. The top of the scabbard has some dents in it, and the bottom has broken off the leather. Very easy glue fix but I sell things in as is condition. Very bright clean blade with the pipe backed blade never sharpened. Bought in Mississippi about 20 years ago, and was told it had a Confederate connection. Could be but down there they tell that to every Yankee even if you try to buy a sandwich.
