WW II JAPANESE LAST DITCH POLE BAYONET

This bayonet with wooden scabbard was part of my militaria collection which I started 40 years ago before I retired from the Marine Corps and am now liquidating.

In the interest of overwhelming interest, my daughter is listing only photos and dimensions of items so we can post as many as possible quickly. If time allows, descriptions will be added -- this is a \"last ditch\" or pole bayonet manufactured by the Jinsen Arsenal. The serial number located on the blade extension at the wooden grips is (first number or kanji unreadable) 016 as well as additional kanji closer to the cross guard. It has no fullers and was blued at one time but is now bright. The cross guard shape is straight square and the grip shape is made of two pieces of square wood retained by rivets. There is no pommel. The wood scabbard is held together in two places with the original string and has a metal tip. Overall, it\'s a rough piece of work that was made at the end of the war -- both pieces are in excellent condition. It was not made for attachment to a rifle. It was made for lashing to a pole, bamboo, or for use as a short sword by civilian fighters or militia against American troops, should they invade the homeland. This bayonet and scabbard are quite rare.

The overall measurements are 20 inches long by 1/4 inches wide at the cross guard. .
