This is the finest vintage music gear project I\'ve ever assembled;
it took months of effort, research, restoration, repair and custom elements.
It represents the classic back-line Fender amp of the British Invasion era,
only better, being upgraded with custom Weber speakers and Monster cables inside.
The sound is round, warm, fat, punchy, detailed and soulful;
it was a great project and even more so when I heard the sound
I\'d hoped for, and a lot more.
The tone is simply amazing and miles deep.
The destruction of the world economy has cost me my home, my business, and finally
this wonderful restoration project. But my misfortune will become someone\'s
cherished possession;I\'ve done the work and taken the losses,
while you have the opportunity to simply enjoy the results.
This sale represents well over two thousand dollars invested,
and a lot of additional postage, time and energy; to me, it was worth doing.
I never planned to sell it, but here it is.
This vintage Fender Bassman head is in great condition, both cosmetically and functionally. The amp has been professionally serviced by an exceptional specialist andbrought up to date
with a grounded power cord, all new Groove Tubesand recently replaced capacitors, etc.
The original RCA tubes, which functioned perfectly and sounded great, are included
as spares or for the true traditionalist.
Original RCA tubes included. (4) RCA 6L6GC (on about 50 bucks each)
(3) RCA 12ax7 (on about 17 bucks each)
The slide out lock-down glides are intact and functional.
Since you\'re looking at this amp, you KNOW what a good example sounds like...
and this one is exceptional.
I probably haven\'t played this amp more than 8 hours since it\'s restoration.
Normally, there is no noise, other than the faint hum that all vintage tube amps have.
Twice, after a few hours, I heard a crackle sound, like an old radio;
being an old analog man, I pounded the top with my fist a couple of times
and the \"crackle\" stopped. I only mention this to be completely open
and honest; most old analog gear has a few infrequent \"ghosts\",
and those of us who deal with them know that a whack or two
will make it go away. Every old amp I ever owned
needed a whack once in a while; now you know.
The letters O and L appear on the tube chart, which also reads AA165.
There is a code stamped on the back that reads A 21895.
According to one source, this code means:
Bassman AA864, AA165, AB165 (blackface)
A15000 to A25000 - 1966 - which would match with the \"66\" on the amp front.
While every possible effort has been made to restore this to perfection,
it IS vintage electronics, and nearly 50 years old, and so
theAmplifier andadditional equipmentis sold as is with no returns or warranty.
Matching Fender Bassman cabinet - old original logo,
clean vintage condition, all corners, handles and glides present.
The grill cloth is original on both units, and matches;
there are minor dings in the cab grill cloth, but nothing offensive;
it looks like what it is, only in very good condition for it\'s age.
Inside the Fender cabinet are
2 Weber custom made 12\" speakers - ($150.00 each)
wired with heavy gauge Monster cable.
I spoke with Mr. Weber personally by phone, and described my restoration
project in detail; he recommended two different speakers,
and I ordered what he suggested; it sounds amazing.
Mr. Weber is a skilled technician andartist;
in this age of nearly all manufacturing done in Mexico
or Asia, we are fortunate to have a custom speaker designer/builder
left in the USA, and Weber is worthy of the best amps money can buy.

I\'ve had one buyer who wanted to complain about shipping AFTER he purchased
at the agreed shipping rate, and one Asian who couldn\'t speak English, which was
my last sale to non-English speaking countries.
Other than those 2 exceptions, I\'ve had well over a thousand great transactions
with everyone happy. If you have any questions, ask first before you offer.
I\'m happy to speak with you by phone and answer any questions or provide
