This is a 1958 Grommes LJ6 10 watt mono Hi-Fi amplifier with a replica “Realist” faceplate. The Realist was actually a Grommes LJ2 amplifier that was from 1954 when Radio Shack still had a single location in Boston. The amp, a \"Little Jewel\" LJ-2, was made by Grommes. The Realist versions are very rare because the Realist Camera Company wasn\'t fond of Radio Shack\'s use of its name, and a lawsuit quickly followed. Radio Shack subsequently changed the \"Realist\" brand name to \"Realistic.\" You can read about it here: style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: \'Helvetica Neue LT Std\';\">A custom gold brushed faceplate was created referencing photos and drawings of the original \"Realist\" faceplate. The original Grommes LJ6 faceplate is included in this sale if you want to return the amp to it’s original form.

This unit has been cleaned and tested and is in great working condition.

There is a surface scratch on the right side and some missing paint on the left rear corner - see the images.

The electrolytic caps have all been replaced and a pair of matched NOS Hytron 6V6GT power tubes has been installed. The 2-12AX7’s and the 6X5GT rectifier all test good.

These LJ6 units are very underrated and are great sounding little tube amplifiers.
Input Selection: Tape, Tuner, and Phono. The Phono input has 3 different settings: FLAT, RIAA and OLD LP. Other Controls: Volume, Bass, Treble/On very cool addition to anyones collection, and you might get some double-takes from those in the know.
