Great little antique sad iron with removable handle, manufactured by H.S.B. Co., Chicago, Ill. (I think this stands for Hubbard, Spencer & Bartlett Co). Awesome removable handle with wood grip and wooden button to pull up and release handle from iron base.
Iron measures 6 7/8\" from front point to back point and is 3 3/4\" wide across center. Iron base is stamped size 3 on center of iron under the point where handle attaches. Handle has a C stamped on base.
Iron was collected by my father, now deceased, and was part of his large collection of clothing care items. Would love to have this piece out in the world again being enjoyed instead of in my basement!!
Another item listed on my site is a magazine cover art featuring a young man ironing his trousers with a similar iron. Would be great for laundry room decor!
This iron weighs over 6 pounds, so would also make a nice doorstop.
