“Hubley Long Barrel Texas Jr. Cap Gun”**Circa:1950’s

This is one of three toy cap guns thatwere mine as a child. Like most youngboys back in the 1950’s it was totally normal for young boys to play “Cowboys andIndians or just good guy against bad guys.Bank robbers were quickly taken to jail thanks to the best good guy’spistol handling. Times certainly have changed now with children kicked out ofschool for bringing water pistols to schools.I do not apologize for saying we were in much better times when boyswere boys and girls were girls and no one feared a young boy with a toy cappistol.

This is another better made toy cap pistols ofthe times. This one was made of heavydie cast gray metal or spelter and was made to last for years. This cap gun still operates fine with asingle action trigger and has the flip down barrel and cylinder combinationthat exposes the roll cap chamber. The words ‘Texas Jr.’ is in raised letterson each side below the cylinder. Thepistol grips are ivory colored plastic with a raised black painted steer and afive pointed star in a circle. Both grips are intact with no cracks or missingparts. The black steer paint is thinningand the star on one side is missing the red paint, but the other side still hassome of the red paint. Overall they areboth in above average condition considering the age. The cap chamber and fold down barrel remainslightly separated but is normal for the springs are still good and this gun isall original with normal finish wear.

Thisis another hard to find working cap gun especially considering it is at least60 years old and played with by myself and my son.

Condition: Above average in working condition withnormal wear to finish and grips. No repairs or cleaning have been performed onthis pistol. Smooth trigger and hammer operation.
