Offered here for sale is the Cadillac of milkshake mixers, omnipresent in soda fountains, diners and ice cream shops throughout America in the mid century years. The Hamilton Beach Model 40Dm, with its solid design, high powered motors and elegant art deco style, is sure to be a centerpiece for any collection or business. I have personally restored this mixer, having completely disassembled it, and cleaned, refurbished or replaced every part. Each motor has been rebuilt, lubricated, and fitted with new carbon brushes, so that they function smoothly, quietly and with power! The wiring has been checked, and a new safe three prong cable installed for maximum safety. The porcelain coated iron base has been professionally sandblasted and given a brand new coat of porcelain - not paint - actual porcelain, and matched to the original jade shade. The motor housing and rear panel have been given a professional autobody repaint, again matched to the original colors. The metal parts have been professionally replated to their original shine, and the motor trim ring is never used ORIGINAL stock. The rear ID plate, often prone to damage because of its exposed position, has been restored to pristine condition. Even the rubber feet are new original stock. Lastly the front Hamilton Beach Nameplate is bright, clean and beautiful! In short, this mixer is museum quality, like new. Short of finding one still in the crate, you won\'t find one as good as this mixer. Requiring very little maintenance, it will last decades of use, a pinnacle of American craftsmanship and ingenuity! There are only three points of note: 1) The motor trim ring has a few scattered hairlines from being stored for decades in the original packing. 2) The iron base of this mixer had an defect when it was originally forged in the 1940s...three small pits which cause depressions when the porcelain is coated. I\'ve patched these and touched them up to better conceal their presence. They are very minor and do not distract visually from this mixer. I\'ve included a photo for your perusal 3) One of the rear access panel bolts was stripped at some point in the past, and will not accept the standard size screw. The five are in place and without problem, and this feature is in the rear of the mixer, and not easily visible is display is your primary goal. Aside from those very minor points, this is a beautiful, near pristine mixer reader to use and be enjoyed for decades to come! Happy offerding!
