HEAVENLY 3 PIECE WHITE WEDDING DRESS /GOWN WITH LACE & TRAIN – MUSEUM QUALITY

This is amagnificent all original white wedding gown that would have made such aheavenly appearance when worn around the turn of the last century.

Both the skirtand the bodice of this gown are made of a very fine white cotton and areembellished with various applications of white insertion lace. The gown has amatching underskirt, which is made of a slightly heavier white cotton andtrimmed with lace matching the gown.

The bodice ismeant to be worn making a pigeon front, which was popular during the period, hasthree quarter length sleeves, and a stand up collar. The sleeves have a wonderful gathered ruffleat the bottom edge. The bodice fastensup the back with 10 original tiny white buttons, which are hidden.

The skirt isfull length and very full. It is flatterin front and more gathered in back. Thetop of the skirt has tiny pin tuck pleats all the way around. The bottom 19” of the skirt is actually aflounce, adding fullness to the gored skirt. The skirt is embellished with thesame lace as the bodice throughout. Ithas a waistband and fastens in the back with 1 original hook and eye.

Both thebodice and skirt are unlined.

The matchingpetticoat is also gored, flatter in front, and more gathered in back. Attached to the bottom edge of the skirt arethree rows of ruffles (each 4 ½” long), the bottom row trimmed with lacematching the bodice and skirt. It has awaistband and fastens in the back with 1 original white button.

Condition:

I wouldconsider the condition of this outfit to be excellent, magnificent for display,and strong enough to be worn. There areno stains or spots to be found. Thereare only a couple pin head sized holes in the bodice. The skirt also has a few, but the largest ismore the size of an eraser head. Thereare a few smaller slits in the fabric of the flounce as well, which are veryhard to find. As stated, this gown wouldbe magnificent for display and/or study, as it shows wonderfully, and is allintact and original. It is in wonderfulcondition, and since it is a reasonable size, could also be worn!

Notes:

I have shownthis gown on a 5’7” size 6 mannequin and it fits snugly. On a shorter mannequin or person, you wouldsee the effect of the slight back train flowing on the floor. The gown is shown over a white cotton tanktop and crinoline, which are not included in this sale. I’ve shown this gown with a pink belt in oneof the pictures to show that this gown could also be worn as a garden partydress. Sorry, the pink belt is notincluded. I also have the shoes thatwere originally worn with this gown, which I will be listing separately.
