This is a JapaneseWWllArmyofficer`ssword in combat mountings. The blade is signed \"Nagamura Kiyonobu長村清宣\" with関 inspection stamp,shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade.Kiyonobu\'s real name is Nagamura Matsuichi, born in 1900inGifu prefecture, made swords during WWll time, listed inJohn Slough\'sbook page85.The blade isinold polish, shows light stains,fine scratchesbut no rustand ingoodcondition. The temper line is wavygunometemper pattern throughout the blade and has deepo-maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge issharp. The scabbardisleather coveredwood scabbard,no cut,no dent, no bendandingood condition. Thehandle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrappingisno loose,no cutalso ingood condition.Itmeasures 25+5/8\" tip to the guard, 24+7/8\" cutting edge,1+3/16\" width,7 mmthickness at the notch and38+1/4\" inmountings.It came with blue/brown company grade sword tassel, showsaged wear.
