Up for offer is the remnants an original Japanese Murata Type 18 Rifle stock with its cleaning rod. The Murata rifle predated the more common Arisaka rifle. As can be seen in the photos, the stock has seen a great deal of trauma and is missing the entire butt. Hopefully what is left will provide some use to someone, either as a pattern or through the use of the various small metal fittings embedded in the stock. I don\'t have a use for what\'s left of this stock, but I definitely don\'t have the heart to throw away such a rare piece. The cleaning rod looks to be original and in very good shape overall, with no bends and showing only typical wear for its age. Please note that although the rod does look correct and fits the stock well, it measures out at 27-1/2 inches in length - which is not a length I\'m familiar with any Murata series rifle using.
