This is a JapaneseWWllNavalArmyofficer`ssword in mountings. The blade is signed \"Ichihara Nagamitsu一原長光\",shinogi-zukuri, super wide shape,WWll wartime period ca.1940 era made blade.Nagamitsuwas director of Okayama prison,utilized preson labor to help him made swords for the war effort. The cutting ability of his swords rank among Showa period\'s sword smith, listed in John Slough\'s book page124, 125.The blade istraditional hand forged, inoldpolish, no rust, no stainand inexcellentcondition.The temper line isgunome-choji temper pattern throughout the blade and has deeptemper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge issharp. The scabbardisheavy metalscabbard,shows tiny lacquer loss but nodents,no bendandingood condition. Thehandle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrappingisno loose,no cutand ingood condition. Lock mechanism works fine.Tsuba and seppas are all original, has unique screw system (photo #11) and no number stamped.
