Selling a Early Jim Merz Road bike. Frame # cj052 (about mid 70s). 57cm center to center seat tube, 56cm top tube. This is a custom built Merz frame/fork/rear rack. The rack was built for this bike out of 4130 CrMo steel tubing. The rack is a work of art. The frame and fork are Reynolds double butted 531. The lugs have been worked very thin, some the nicest lug-work I\'ve seen. Overall a beautiful handmade frameset by a skilled designer and craftsman.
Sale is for complete bike without pedals.Bike has most of the original pre-CSPC Campagnolo Nuovo Record parts including: brake levers/calipers, seatpost, bottom bracket, headset, strada 170 crankset, front derailleur, shifters, low flange hubs, skewers, brake cable guides and seatpost binder bolt. All the campy stuff is in excellent condition.Other parts include: selle italia flite saddle(vanadium rails), cinelli 1A stem(100mm), nitto noodle bars, shimano deore long cage rear derailleur and super champion gentleman rims. Panaracer Pasela 700x32c tires. Again all these parts are in excellent condition. Paint has some wear but looks great for age. Original decals are in pretty good shape. Reynolds decals are flaking off a bit, please check pictures. Bike has original permit sticker and a cycle Oregon II band hanging on the top tube. Very original condition! The frame is in great shape, no rust, no dings or dents. Fork is very slightly out of alignment, I rode it like this for a couple years and it didn\'t bother me.
