This is an original facsimile copy of the so called Dunlap Broadside first printing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a scarce limited edition exact reproduction facsimile produced by the Lakeside Press of Chicago based on the \"lost copy\" discovered in Philadelphia in Leary’s bookshop in 1968 and sold at sale in 1970.

This broadside is still in the original oversized red presentation folder decorated with an embossed American Eagle. The original tissue guard sheet is still in place along with the eight page booklet explaining the story behind this facsimile reproduction. The winning buyers at the 1970 sale were two Dallas businessmen who paid over $400,000 for the Leary Bookshop Dunlap Broadside which at the time was the highest price paid for a single document. The historic Lakeside Press of R.R. Donnelly & Sons was commissioned to produce a limited number of exact reproduction of which this is one. This broadside measures 15.75” x 19.5” with the presentation folder slightly larger. The presentation folder shows modest wear and the facsimile broadside is in excellent, near mint condition.
