This is a Kilgore American Cap Gun from the 1940s. The American is one of the nicest cap guns of any kind that you can hold in your hand. It is made of a solid cast iron metal. The Kilgore Company engraved the American with wildlife scenes native to America and put a raised Eagle on ivory like grips. The gun has a solid metal cylinder which rotates with each pull of the trigger. You can see from the pictures how clean and nice this American is.
The cap gun has an orange plug in the end of the barrel to comply with policy

It was pointed out to me that this American is the 2nd model with the pressed steel cylinder not the cast iron cylinder.
