Offered is a large Royal Vienna Augarten Wien porcelain bust of the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven . It is Blanc de Chine (all white ) porcelain with the exquisite detail that Royal Vienna porcelain is famous for. It measures approximately 9 " tall on a 3 1/2" by 1 1/2" tall square base. Head is approximately 6 3/4"wide by 6 3/4" deep. It projects as a larger piece. On base is impressed F.Oppitz whom we presume to be the artist.. It is signed on bottom in blue with a crown ,beehive and Wien. It is in perfect condition with 2 small flaws. On the neck on side below ears there is a glaze break of 1/8" and 1/16". On opposite side there is a 1/8" break. All are only noticeable upon very close inspection. We felt they happened at firing. It is a perfect holiday gift for the music lover on your gift list. The piece is from a New York City living estate having been in storage. Polite questions cheerfully answered.
