Lycoming O-540-J3C5D # L-21622-40A from Cessna R182 # R182-01188. Airplane was damaged in an in-flight fire. Broken fuel fitting Tee was the cause. Google the NTSB report on N292LC for laughs. The NTSB threw me under a bus w/ their report which was BS. This engine ran like a Rolex all the way and I shut it down w/ the mixture control before the fire trucks arrived so no foam was sucked into the motor. Smoke damage is obvious. All rubber was heat damaged. Fuel system was removed. No mag/carb/alternator/starter included (*you can contact me for those items if you need them). 3990 TT, 1850 SMOH by Mattituck. Very strong when \'retired\'. Logbooks included. Excellent for an Experimental Aircraft or as a core for buildup. Those looking to convert to dual independent magnetos will need to change out the accessory case. Those looking to use the new Electronic Ignition systems should be ok as-is. Set up for Bendix D-Mag right now. Engine was capped and preserved when removed and has been sitting 3 years since. I bought a run-out replacement TR-182 w/ the same basic engine and was keeping this around till I had overhauled the motor on the replacement bird in case I had a bad crank or something like that. Darn crankshafts go for $7000 on their own. Anyway, the overhaul is complete so now I can let this go. Ask anything.
