This is a 1965 Stevens M416 trailer. A volunteer fire department had it and used it as a trailer to haul a generator after doing some alterations. They removed the lunette ring and altered the hitch to a 1 7/8\" ball, the lights were removed and reflectors were added. Overall the trailer is in good shape for a 52 year old trailer, there is rust in the bottom of the bed and the original brakes are still installed. The floor can be replaced, the wheels are in good shape, the tires show some dry rot. The trailer tows straight and true and I believe it would make a good camping trailer with work. I purchased this trailer with the intention of converting it to a camping trailer. I expected to remove the body and put in a new floor, remove the solid axle and install a Timbren set up, remove the 1 7/8\" ball hitch and weld in an extended tongue to carry a battery pack and spare tire, add supports to the sides on front of the fenders for carrying extra water and LP gas, cut in a tailgate for the rear while keeping the solid tube top for extra strength, support legs in the rear to keep it level and stable during set up, add a folding tent to the top and add a decent wiring harness to replace what is missing. I\'m sorry it isn\'t pretty; when I first saw it I looked past the rust and peeling paint and saw what I wanted it to be, an expedition trailer. However, life has thrown me a curve and I will not be able to do anything with it. I have a valid NC title.Additional photos of specific parts of the trailer are available.
