You are looking at a fully restored top ofthe line incredible rare MARANTZ Model2600 AM/FM Stereo Receiver with Wood Cabinet and DLB-1 FM decoder and decoder blankplate. With 300 watts of pure cleansound per channel this 2600 is unmatched in power and performance.

One sees 2500s for sale quite often that havebeen serviced but not restored. This is the only 2600 I have seen for sale in along while and it has been professionally restored by READY AUDIO. This is my 3rd and probably my last 2600 to bepurchased and restored. I have moved allmy time and money to 4300s and 4400s.

There has never been a 2600 for sale like this one andwill most likely never be another one. To find another 2600 this perfect andrestored will just not happen.

This 2600 receiver is quite rare and had a totalproduction of less than 1000 units and best guess is only 300 are left. 2600scome up for sale from time to time but not lately. No 2600 has been restored tothis degree before and listed for sale. This is an absolute pristine 2600 ismost likely the best 2600 in the world. During the restoration it became apparent thisunit had less than 1000 total hours before the main power switch failed. Thisunit was in storage in UTAH most of its life in a very low humidityEnvironment. As you can see from thepictures this unit looks like it was manufactured yesterday not in 1979.

No expense was spared in restoring this 2600.The restoration was done with no limit on the cost.

The Faceplate is in almost perfect condition(9.9/10). All the lettering is perfect, corners are perfect, dial glass isperfect and the scope is like brand new.

The Cabinet was custom built for me in Cherry. The cabinet fits perfect.

A copy of the Owners manual is included withthis receiver.

STRIPED RECEIVER DOWN COMPLETELY, CLEAN THECHASSIS AND WASHED ALL BOARDS.

THE FACE PLATE CLEANED AND POLISHED.

ALL KNOBS WASHED AND POLISHED.

TUNING GYRO WHEEL BEARINGS CLEANED AND REGREASED WITH MOLY LUBE WHITE GREASE, WHEEL CLEANED THOROUGHLY.

CLEAN AND CYCLE ALL SWITCHES AND CONTROLSWITH DE-OXIT PRODUCTS NUMEROUS TIMES DURING OVERHAUL PROCEDURE.

REPLACE ALL INCANDESCENT LAMPSWITH PROTECTED LEDS.

THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF CAPACITORS WERE USED AND WEREPLACED IN INTENDED SPOTS:

NICHICON—FG (FINE GOLD) KZ (MUSE AUDIO)

FW (AUDIO) KW (AUDIO) PW (HIGH TEMP)

KT (HIGH TEMP AUDIO)

CAPACITORS WERE COMPLETELY UPGRADED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

AMPLIFIER, SOFT START CIRCUIT, SPEAKERPROTECTION RELAY CIRCUIT, PRE AMPLIFIER, EQUALIZATION, PHONO, POWER SUPPLY,TONE CONTROL SECTION, FM/AM TUNER, QUARTZ LOCK CIRCUIT, FM MUTING CIRCUIT.

THE FIVE REGULATOR TRANSITORS ON THE POWERSUPPLY THAT FEED VOLTAGE TO THE PRE AMPLIFIER, FM/AM SECTIONS WERE REPLACEDWITH BETTER TYPES THAT HANDLE STESS BETTER.

AMPLIFIERS FOUR DRIVER TRANSISTORS UPGRADEDTO BETTER QUALITY.

REBUILT THE MAIN POWER SWITCH.

REPLACED THE SOFT START FUJITSU RELAY WITHBRAND NEW OLD STOCK REPLACEMENT.

SPEAKER RELAY WAS REPLACED WITH OMRON 48VDC TYPE.

(26) CERAMIC AND FILM CAPACITORS ON THE POWER SUPPLYWERE UPGRADED TO LOW TOLERANCE POLYPROPYLENE AND POLYESTHER TYPES FOR IMPROVEDAUDIO REPRESENTAION.

ALL 8 FUSES WERE REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW.

THE AMPLIFIER’S TUNNEL HEAT SINKWAS COMPLETELY TORN DOWN, ALL 16 OUTPUT TRANSISTORS TESTED AND CLEANED. THETUNNEL HEATSINK WAS WASHED, ALL SMALL SECONDARY FINNED HEAT SINKS WEREMETICULOUSLY CLEANED AND RESURFACED. OUTPUTS RE MOUNTED WITH THERMALLOYINSULATORS BETWEEN FINNED SINK AND OUTPUT AND HIGH END HEAT SINK GREASE APPLIEDBETWEEN FINNED SINK AND MAIN HEAT SINK. THERMISTORS CLEANED, TESTED, RESURFACEDAND RE MOUNTED TO HEAT SINK WITH NEW QUALITY HEAT SINK GREASE.

THE AMPLIFIERS COOLING FAN WAS COMPLETELYTAKEN APART, WASHED AND BOTH BEARINGS CHEMICALLY WASHED AND PACKED WITH MOLYLUBE GREASE—MOTOR COIL TESTED. FAN RUNS SMOOTH AND QUIET LIKE NEW.

HEAT SENSING THERMISTORS FOR FAN OPERATIONHEAT TESTED AND CONFIRMED WITHIN SPEC. WITH THERMOCOUPLE PROBE AND HEAT GUN.

ALL BOARDS COMPLETELY HAND RESOLDERED.

SCOPE ADJUSTED TO MANUFACTURER’S SPECIFICATIONS. THE SCOPEIS IN GREAT SHAPE AND DIALED IN PERFECT

TOP AND BOTTOM COVER WASHED WITH ANTI-BACTERIALSOAP AND WATER.
