Vintage dining table base.

By MASTERCRAFT. Drum form pedestal. 12 sided. Patinated brass plated steel over wood. Lacquered finish. On 4 glides. All original. Very high quality. Heavy.

I recently acquired this table from the estate of the original owner.

This pedestal was designed to support a thick glass top, hexagonal shape, 66\" x 66\" x 3/4\" thick, weighing a couple hundred pounds. Due to its weight and shipping expense the top is not included.

This table base is versatile. With a smaller diameter overhanging top it could be used as a dinette table. With an inset glass top it could be used as a display pedestal or lamp table.

All sides of the pedestal are represented in the photos. When viewing the photos keep in mind the metal is highly reflective (you will see trees and other surroundings reflected in the pedestal).

CONDITION:

I detect a few very superficial scratches to the lacquer in one area toward the bottom of the pedestal on one of the flat panels; I detect 1 tiny, very superficial ding to one of the flat panels (this was impossible to capture in the photos). None of this is at all significant or conspicuous -- generally invisible unless the pedestal is laid on its side and the light hits it just so.

Otherwise this pedestal is in excellent, all original condition with no damages and no significant wear. No restorations.

No missing parts. No replaced or non original elements.

No other dings or scratches. No dents, bends, breaks, splits, looseness, gouges, scuffs, mars. No significant rub. No corrosion or oxidation. Any appearance otherwise is the result of reflections.

Note that the top of the pedestal is immaculate -- always protected by glass and always used with protective, clear plastic, non-skid disks on top so it never came in direct contact with the glass.

All original glides are intact.

Untouched original surfaces. The pedestal is very clean as found (I merely wiped with a damp cloth). No debris or grime. No cigarette, pet or otherunpleasant odors. The lacquer is in excellent condition with no wear or other issues.
