Here\'s a made-in-Japan Masterwork All Transistor radio.
The model number T-2870 is stamped on the bottom.
It appears to be able to pick up AM, FM, LW, and SW (1,2,3) frequencies.This radio is in fantastic condition:
-Front panel is shiny and looks good.
-faux leather case on the back and sides is still soft, with no cracking or tears.
-cord is free of frays or exposed wires.
-antenna is in excellent condition.Overall, this looks like a good specimen from the days of transistor radio-based entertainment.There is one issue that I am aware of with this radio. The main tuning knob does not turn very well, and I cannot verify that the radio actually picks up a signal. When I plug it in, I only get a little bit of static and buzzing, but there is heavy resistance on the knob, and the tuner will barely budge even when turned. I do hear a faint sound of talking when switched to FM, so perhaps all this radio needs is some fiddling with the tuner knob. Update (10/29) - There is actually one more detail that I forgot to mention. The \"TONE\" knob is a bit bent and the bushing is shifted out of place. (please see Photo 1)Nevertheless, this radio needs a tiny bit of work.
