For you mining candlestick and miners candle collectors... This is a very rare c1890s unfired stamped \"M.WERK CO. BRAND STEARIC ACID MINING CANDLE & BOX END\" It was found in an 1890s abandoned minethat hasn\'t seen light in over 120 years. The candle is 8\"\" long and stamped \"M.WERK CO\"\" and has a very fine hair line crack that is hard to see. The candle comes with an original parcial wood box end that the candle may have been shipped in.The parcial box end is 13 1/2\" long and says \"M.WERK & CO.\" Stearic Acid mining candles differ from Adamantine candles in that they are very white in color and very hard and melt at a much higher temperature.. Mining candles were always 3/4\" in diameter and never any other size so they could fit into every miners candlestick. If you collect miners candlesticks this unfired stamped candle and box end to match is cool.. Good Luck
