Fine antique french violin made by Marc Laberte, Mirecourt 1926.
Fineantique french violin made by Laberte in Mirecourt in the year 1926, rare mint condition. The violin is a fine example of the good productions of the firm at the time. The selection of woods is excellent, with a two-pieces top made of spruce of fine and regular grain, and a back made of two pieces of maple, the beautiful curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The making of the instrument is of a high level in the purest french Mirecourt tradition. The instrument shows a double purfling in the Maggini style. The head is very nicely carved. The oil varnish, of an orange-brown colour, is entirely original and in a wonderful state of preservation. The fingerboard seems made of maple. A beautiful french instrument of the early 20th century.
The violin is in a mint condition, without any cracks. The instrument has been revised and set-up in our workshop with a new Despiau bridge, a rosewood tailpiece with bone fret, a rosewood chinrest and Thomastik Dominant strings. The rosewood pegs with gold olive ends, original to the instrument, fit perfectly.
On the inside back can be found the original label of Laberte, \"Marc Laberte, Maître luthier, Mirecourt France (Vosges)\", dated \"1926\" and numbered \"253\". At the opposite under right f hole can be found a number \"8\".
The instrument comes with its old case. Insured shipping to US $90 and to EU $50.
