Morning Stars II ~ Large Clear Beveled Stained Glass Window Panel with Dichroic Bevels

This dramatic geometric stained glass window panel is created from clear faceted bevels, lacy patterned bevels and delicate dichroic bevels. The dichroic bevels are a fairly new process. These faceted bevels have a special metallic overlay that changes colors from orange to gold to light green to purple depending on your angle of viewing and the position of light. Dichroic bevels transmit one color while reflecting others, creating an effect similar to the iridescence you see in hummingbird feathers or dragonfly wings.

Morning Stars II combines 45 faceted clear bevels, 3 delicate lacy \"gluechip\" bevels, and 5 sparkling dichroic bevels to create the feeling of a sunrise, complete with morning stars. It is hand-crafted using the Tiffany copper foil technique and features hand polished black patina, a darkened zinc frame and chain for hanging.

Morning Stars II can be displayed vertically or horizontally, depending on your preference. The movement in the design and play of light through the bevels is beautiful with either orientation.

About the Artist

I have been working with stained glass for a little over 14 years. My studio is in the San Jacinto Valley, which is a rural area of Southern California about 60 miles west of Palm Springs.

Every glass piece that I create is a \"labor of love\". Designing a pattern, choosing the colors and textures of glass, and then cutting and fitting each piece together is such a calming, joyful experience - especially if a piece turns out the same way I envisioned it would.

I\'m quite slow in creating my glass works, but that\'s okay, as I love the process. The time honored, sage advice to stained glass artisans is \"design it well and build it strong\", and that is what I strive to do. A well-crafted stained glass piece should last a lifetime, and hopefully become a treasured family heirloom.

All of my art glassworks are handcrafted andoriginals. Occasionally I will use a pattern for a portion of the piece, but the selection of glass, the compositionand the completed work is always original.
