This 1953NANCY ALL STYLE SHOW DOLL has been redressed in the 1953 GLAMOUR GIRL PICNIC DAY OUTFIT by Madame Alexander. She stands 18 inches tall and is a NEAR MINT WALKER DOLL withn ALL ORIGINAL HIGH COLOR in her face, backs of hands, and knees WITH EVEN BODY COLOR. She has NO CRACKS & NO JOINT RUBS. She has a RARE REDHEAD TRIPLE STITCHED WIG IN ORIGINAL SET. I chose this doll to wear this dress because she was made to wear similar sweeping skirt dresses with large straw hats in the early 1950s, being also sold at high end toy stores like FAO Schwarz. In MADAME ALEXANDER COLLECTOR\'S DOLLS, SECOND SERIES, by Patricia R. Smith, there are 8 pages, page 205--213, with photos and descriptions of these dolls. They were often mistaken for and mislabeled as Madame Alexander dolls because of their beautiful craftsmanship and elegant quality costuming. This Nancy Ann Style Show doll is breathtaking in this GLAMOUR GIRL PICNIC DAY DRESS, PETTICOAT, HOOP SLIP, and HAT. This dress HAS ORGINAL TAG MADAME ALEXANDER sewn into the neckline. It has black lace edged PUFF SLEEVES WITH ORIGINAL ELASTIC, UNSTRETCHED. It is elegantly accented with ORIGINAL PASTEL YELLOW TAFFETA SASH WITH BUSTLE BOW in back. The trim on the dress is a PASTEL LIME GREEN WITH BLACK PIPING. The dress retains its ORGINIAL HIGH COLOR PINK BACKGROUND WITH DELICATE BLACK & GREEN FLORAL PRINT. I purchased this complete outfit, including cotton full length petticoat and ruffled tulle hoop skirt petticoat and straw hat with black ribbon ties & vintage pink floral trim, separate from this doll. I had been saving it for just the right doll and them I FOUND HER: NANCY ANN. She is flirtatious and turns her head from side to side, being able to look over her shoulders in unique poses. Her walker mechanism is superb. I purchased NEWSOFT BLACK LEATHERSHOES, tied with black ribbon and accented with gilded buckles. Nancy Ann has been a WORK OF HEART as I have lovingly displayed her in a SMOKE FREE, PET FREE DOLL ROOM protected from sunlight and temperature extremes. I have a very large doll collection and have recently begun to share some of my Ladies with other collectors.
