This is another consignment item from a collection of American militaria discovered in Australia. I believe this may be a Civil war era (or earlier) cap box. It is in beautiful condition with all parts intact.The button/finial is brass.This fascinating box is 4 3/4\" wide and 3 1.2\" tall. It is approximately 1\" thick at the thickest spot.If you have any information on this piece, please let me know and I will amend this description.
