When we purchased this item we were told that this piece came form the collection of Dr. Wilson Kern and was originally collected in 1905 out of Kenai, Alaska. This was then collected/passed down by Raton Pass. We have several other items out out this collection as well.
Belived to be a Tsimshian Frog Clan Hat. All wood including top notches. Ermine and Fox or Rabbit skin and Abalone inlay. Face still has some original tint of red around lips and eyes. Please see photos. 11\" wide X15\" tall.
