For sale is this Sunset Models brass diesel locomotive. This is Sunset item number 102, a General Electric 44 ton locomotive decorated for Southern Pacific Lines. As you can see in the photos, the locomotive is in excellent condition and if you don't like the SP then this locomotive is easily stripped and can be decorated for someone else as just about everyone had one and they all look alike. The locomotive is mechanically sound, has been test run and the chain drive which you can see in the pictures does not slip. Of course, since the boiler weight has not been installed, this isn't a true test but you 2 Rail guys are scrappy, creative and will figure this out. Personally, I have 9 GE 44 tonners in HO Scale and if I was a 2 Rail guy this one wouldn't have been listed but I'm not a 2 Rail guy...maybe I will be one by the time this is over. If you are the winning buyer, you will receive this item in its original Sunset box. The foam is gone and the weights have not been installed. There is a paint chip on the very top of one of the stack but it does not detract from the appearance of the locomotives. The locomotive and weights are just shy of 4 lbs. so tractive effort should not be a problem and the locomotive should be able to haul what it could in real life.
