OOAK Baby Doll Hand-Sculpted, Dressed and Signed by Didy Jacobsen (Not Reborn) :
$250.00

This sale is for a one-of-a-kind baby doll, hand-sculpted in modelene clay and signed by Netherlands artist Didy Jacobsen in the early 2000\'s. She is not a reborn doll; she is made entirely by the artist, and there is not another one like her. Didy Jacobsen also made the baby\'s clothes -- all her outfits are made in natural colors. The baby\'s name is Melanie. I bought her new for around $2,500 in approximately 2002, and she has been displayed behind glass in my smoke-free home ever since. She is signed on her tummy by the artist; she also has Didy Jacobsen\'s signature drawing of a heart on her chest -- she does this as a \"kiss\" to send them on their way. She has brown glass eyes, and her mohair wig is a red color. She will come with her original clothing, muslin blanket, and wrist tag, as shown.Along the way, Melanie has developed a couple of issues. First, she has a couple of minor light brown marks on the front and back of her shirt that goes under her pinafore (one mark on the front, two or three on the back). They are not noticeable when she is wearing her complete outfit, and they may not even be that noticeable when she is not. I needed to mention them, though. Also -- and more importantly -- she has a \"cloudy\" eye; it seems to have developed from glue loosening from her eyelashes. I tried to capture this effect in one of the pictures above. I am confident it could be repaired by someone who knows what they\'re doing, or maybe even by the artist herself, if someone wanted to get in touch with her. I notice she seems to be still making OOAK\'s for Classic Collection Dolls in the UK, still in modelene. Other than these issues, she is perfect -- no chips or breaks -- just adorable.I really have no idea what the price point of these older OOAK dolls are, so I am starting her sale at a price WAY lower than what I paid for her. This takes into effect her \"flaws\", as well. Please feel free to check my response and contact me with any questions prior to offerding. Shipping will be by USPS, and she is somewhat heavy and sturdy, so I am setting the shipping cost at $25 -- I am sure it will be at least that, but, should the cost turn out to be less, I will issue the buyer a refund for the difference through PayPal. No international buyers please. Thank you for your interest.
