Thisbeautifully iguana was made by the Puech Ikots indigenous artists collective in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is hand carved from copal wood and hand painted. It measures 7 inches tall and the base is about 6 inches in diameter.

The piece is in perfect condition and will be shipped from Chicago, IL.\"Puech Ikots\" means \"words of our people\" in the indigenous Huave language of Oaxaca. The Puech Ikots project is a joint Mexican-American initiative to economically support indigenous artisans in Oaxaca and promote the beauty of Oaxacan culture. Our goal is to help the artists in the collective earn a living for themselves and their families, without having to abandon their artistry. It is not a for-profit endeavor- all money from sales is returned directly to the collective members in Oaxaca. It is completely fair trade and the prices are set by the artists themselves.
