Beautiful old American violin attributed to Frank Topolewski Toledo Ohio 1938, with a label that denotes such. Good workmanship. No purfling on this violin however. Medium grain Spruce top, flamed maple back and ribs. Violin is lined, and has a good projecting tone. Masterly cut scroll. Several nicks and marks on its old amber finish and a repaired table crack that is closed and is an old repair. Has a new bridge and new strings and is ready to play. Comes with a a new plush case and a good Brazilwood bowFrank Topolewski was a luthier and violin repairman in Toledo Ohio, who also worked on string instruments for various orchestras, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Toledo Symphony Orchestra among others. He made his first violin at the age of 5. He was And immigrant from Poland and worked until he was in his 80s. He died in Toledo in the mid-1970s.Violin will come fully insured so buy with confidence.
