Beautiful fine old German Stradiuarius violin.

Presumably around 1950s. Finely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. This beautiful violin shows a firmly repaired line on the lower left rib, but no open cracks or open seams. The table is finely spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new ebony pegs, ebony tailpiece and chinrest, a new bridge and new strings.These are new silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!
Beautiful old quality instrument with great potential in immediate playing condition! Please listen to the sound ! Measures aprox.: total 59,3 cm / 23.3\", body 35,8 cm / 14.1\", vibrating chord length 32,5 cm / 12.8\", weight 485 gr / ~17.1 oz. For further questions please feel free to ask, or/and - as we sell a lot of different violins - we would recommend to do a bit of internet research (Google / Wikipedia etc.) about makers, models and prices.
