An exceptionally rare circa 1928-29 salesman sample Glascockstandard Coca-Cola cooler. It is a miniature replica, featuring twin hingedlids with a zinc interior compartment. All original advertising panels on allfour sides with a bottle opener on the front with working caster feet. Onecaster has broken from the stem, but is present. There is NO bottle cap catcheron this cooler, but it does not appear there ever was one. There is NOsalesman’s carrying case and NO bottles.

This miniature cooler measures approx. 10 ½” long X 7 ½”wide X 12 ½” high, without the casters. The zinc cooler box is 3 ½” deep.

All four panels have retained a bright colorful appearance. It is not in mint condition, there is some minor paint loss, dings and dents from use, wear and play. Thegreen crinkle painted top lids are in good condition with some wear scuffs,dents or nicks.

Included are 4 yellow-painted wood bottle crates, one hasdividers missing, 2 have some chips and one is in very good condition. Eachwood yellow-painted crate has dovetail corners, measure approx. 6” long X 4”wide X 1 ½” deep with red Coca-Cola stencil on the sides.

Also included in this sale, although it is not originalto this cooler, is a miniature green glass Coca-Cola bottle with metal capmeasures 3” tall X ¾” diameter bottom. This bottle was inside this cooler however it does not fit into the crate bottle openings.

According to what I have read, the first salesman sampleswere not produced in quantity so they are considered rare and very difficult tofind. I also read Coca-Cola began producing a salesman sample of theGlascock cooler in the exact but scaled-down version for sales demonstration in 1929. This is in conflict from the description in the 1974 \"Coca-ColaCollectibles Vol III”, as it pictures a similar cooler with an earlier year of 1928, the cooler pictured has a bottlecap catcher.

A Coke collector will know more about this item, but I can give provenance. I am selling this miniature cooler for a 90 year old friend. It was given to her, byher uncle, who worked for Coca-Cola company in Kokomo, Indiana. She thought when she was 3-4 yrs. old. She remembers how she loved playing with itand kept it. Later when she had children of her own, they loved playing with it as well. It has since been instorage the past 50+ years. The book included is the owner\'s book, but no longer wants. All sold together. This is a unique piece of Coca-Cola history that has survived.

There is NO salesman\'s case, there are NO bottles, there\'s some damage to the wood crates and one caster needing repair.
