Offered here is an original vintage brass railroad baggage tag, gang stamped The Commercial Express, along with a stamped number 229. Measures 1.75 x 2.0. Acquired from a collection that originated in Tucson, Arizona. I believe this to be one of the very short lived Express Companies that sprang up around the many western railroads, that was absorbed into the larger Wells Fargo Express or American Railway Express Companies, as many of them were. I can find no specific origin for the tag - if you know, please let me know! A beautiful piece of early western railroad or stage history. Thanks for looking!
