Original US Civil War bayonet scabbard.
Just the scabbard. Picked this up at a Fairfax, Virginia, CW show in the 1990s. Still intact but unwearable/unusable for the Gettysbury 153rd reenactment. The \"frog\" (piece that attaches to the belt) has come undone from the scabbard, but they still fit together with the unattachment not noticeable. See the picture of it on the wood floor. Overall length of the scabbard itself is 19-1/2 inches. Has the brass scabbard tip held to the leather with three of the four original rivets. Stitching gone on most of the back of the scabbard and leather is scaly in places but not completely trashed by any measure. It will look great on display with a ground dug bayonet. Seven rivets in the frog. Comes with a handmade triangular cross section dowel with eyelet, inserted in the scabbard.
