Original WWI U.S. Army M1912 Hospital Corpsman\'s Bolo Machete. Sheath has three small slots cut in front, possibly for a shoulder strap? Sheath shows hard use and wear, back has a \"W\" engraved in leather and is marked \"ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1912 H.E.K., also has stitch separation along back edge. Handles show wear, no chips or cracks! Blade is dirty,has spotting and very light corrosion, shows light sharpening, no nicks. Blade marked \"U.S. 30922\", also has three notches filedin blade, as shown in photos.Umsure what they signify, I assume kills the soldier had. This bolo shows hard wear and use, butits solid and very presentable. It will make a nice addition to your collection.
