LOOK Up In The Sky, It’s A Bird, It’s A plain NO IT’S SUPERMAN. Here is an outstanding rare wood jointed and composition Superman designed by Joseph Kallus and made by the Ideal Toy Company in the 1940\'s. He is in excellent condition with no touch ups or repairs. He is in all original condition including his red cape witch you hardly ever find. I have only had this wood jointed character a couple times over the years and usually the cape is missing or replaced. He is 13\" tall and his face is outstanding with no peeling or flaking. He does have a couple craze lines, one on each side of the nose and one of his forehead. That is excellent for the Superman dolls as that area around the nose and eyes usually lifts and flakes over the years so to have one that is still intact is hard to find. H painted molded hair is marvelous with just a couple light craze lines and his coloring and painted features are excellent. His muscular composition torso is excellent and his big yellow S for superman on his chest is outstanding. Other than the few on his face I can\'t see any other crazing on him and his blue and red colors are bight and vibrant, His wood jointed arms, legs are perfect. The decal on his waist is excellent but has a bit of chipping but still reads Des & Copyright by Superman Inc. Made by Ideal Novelty & toy Co. His original red cape is perfect and is still originally attached to his shoulders with no rips, holes or repairs. He is strung great so he stands well on his own but I would keep him in a stand so he can’t fly away. This rare all original 1940\'s Wood Jointed and Composition Ideal 13\" Superman Character Doll designed by Joseph Kallus can sells for well over $1800.00 but my reserve is less so don\'t let him fly away.
